Clothsurgeon x Givenchy

You may have seen an image a few posts back, of a custom made jacket from a Givenchy scarf.

The scarf was carefully cut for the front of the jacket to optimise the beautiful Ricardo Tisci print. The rest of the jacket was made from Lambs Nappa Leather, the RSMA-1 shape. Elasticated leather waistband and cuffs, merino mix ribbing collar, silver inside jets, leather fly, zip front, and satin lined. This piece was made for friend and Music Artist Sincere.

Any queries on a bespoke/custom piece please contact Rav, ME :)

AW12 Final additions.....

Boiiii

There has been a nice positive response to the brand since it has launched, and for a Designer/Owner that means alot that hits the target market it was intended to.

Recently Big Sean wore the waxed leather sleeve sweater. Shout out to April Roomet, Big Seans stylist and also makes some amazing custom pieces, it seems great minds think alike.

Leather Sweatpants.

From the debut collection, I would say my favourite piece is probably the leather sweatpants. Inspired and based on iconic 80'S Hip Hop act Run DMC, I decided I want to make a full leather tracksuit. I actually own a full Adidas one, but having a weird loyalty to brands I never wear it. If I wear jeans I wear Levi's, if I wear sneakers they are Nike.

From that shape I tapered the leg, making it a more modern fit, and fully lined with elasticated leather waistband. Finished off with black on black Ri-Ri zips, subtle finishing addition to a quality piece.

Excuse the poses, I was young :)

December Drop

December Drop was shot today, unfortunately the weather was terrible and pieces were. Ollie Adegboye managed to get some good imagery and the pieces should be online soon.

These pieces were made to finish off the AW12 Collection. The Shearling Bomber is one beautiful piece.

"Hi Clothsurgeon, can you make....."

The answer is usually yes,

but recently, I was asked to make a full fur gillet, the customer was quite specific with what he wanted and how he wanted it to look, which is always good as you have an initial direction, but it was going to be tricky piece to make.

I decided to use Fox fur as it was perfect for what the client wanted, facing in Nappa Leather, with silk-satin lining.

Sewn on a specialist fur machine, where you feed the fabrics through, right side to right side, tucking in the fur as you sew, the machine doesnt stitch flat, its fed from left to right almost in an arial manner. Wonderful invention.

Happy customer :)
