Project Biker.

We have an interesting new project lined up for the House of Billiam MB Biker jacket. Already confirming a few things on the project, we are hoping this will be pretty epic, but for now can't tell you too much, not due to the fact I'm trying to hype you with the suspense, but simply because I'm superstitious and don't what to jinx it!!

Its going to be good if all goes to plan.

Talking on screen.

Is something I'm not great at but luckily Tom is, but also not a big fan of doing it. Fashion One came to get a bespoke piece made, and documented the whole thing.

We decided on the biker silhouette, keeping it high end with the use of fabrics, trims and details. Take a look:

Currently addicted to...

....not the gym unfortunately, but Portuguese tarts.
Not the women variety, but a delightful custard filled pastry. They go down so well!

Delicous!

Label

Clothsurgeon labels arrived along with some wonderful fabric from Hally Stevensons, so its time to start working on the first few pieces for the Label. Expect Blacks, Greys, Navy, Cream and Burgundy as part of the first collections palette.

Cool Runnings

We recently got asked to make a jacket for Usain Bolt, you know? The fastest guy in the World! So we found this quite exciting, our brief was simply to make it quite "Jamaicany"... so we did.

Using Yellow nappa leather sleeves, green melton wool body, gold pockets jets, bandanna pockets bags, and a flag to line the jacket, I think we created a piece that was not only "Jamaicany" but actually very wearable and not as garish as we imagined it would be.

This is for a photoshoot at Bob Marleys house.

Sometimes you lose....

Then sometimes you win.

I often make up pieces in my head that I think will be showstoppers or a desirable piece of outerwear, sometimes they don't always come out as planned but thats not often :)

The latest piece was a take on the classic A-2 Flight jacket. Making the jacket tonal and playing with the textures, involving cashmere mix ribbing, suede, nappa leather and a shearling collar, for me one of the nicest pieces so far.

WIN.

In House production

Due to our manufactures, based in the UK having a whole heap of production going on, we decided to sew in house and get the pieces to the customer on time as we always try to promise.

Its sometimes nice to get back on the machine to create a bespoke put together by our lovely customers.

here's a few sewn in the last week:

We recently got invited to the Disturbing London Studios, being down the road from us we took a gentle stroll to see Dumi and the crew. We intend on working together very soon.

options.

I decided to create a Varsity for the upcoming tradeshow Jacket Required, to show the many options you have when putting together a bespoke piece. We havn't done accurate maths but there is over a million combinations, its pretty much limitless, as there are so many fabric options. It can get quite tricky for the indecisive man, who tends to go all black, or get quite a few, the latter being me.

Here is the one we put together, we tried to make it quite ridiculous, but even with all panels being a different color or pattern it was still quite wearable.

what can you come up with? OPTIONS HERE.

ClothSurgeon

ClothSurgeon is now registered as a brand so its time to do something with it. There will be some movements very soon, in trying to create a high end streetwar brand focusing on fine materials, details, function and wearability.

Two years in design working with House of Billiam, we have managed to stock at Dover Street Market, Liberty, 10 Corso Como, United Arrows, lets hope the same for ClothSurgeon.

Dose

I received another stash of goodies from Nike thanks to Energy Marketings Ronojoy, kindly bagged up 6 pairs of wonderful shoes, my favourite probably being the Huarache LE Free.

2011 was the year of the Blazer, 2012 im thinking will see huge re-emergence of the Huarache, I know for most sneaker heads that this shoe holds a strong pull on their heartstrings!!

The Motorcycle Boy Reigns

Elemenets of inspiration for AW12 were taken from a Francis Ford Coppola film Rumble Fish, made in 1983. A gang related movie with an all star cast, we took influence from the way they were dressed to the way each one of Rusty James gang members emotions and persona. Look forward to an eclectic collection bridging the gap, and blurring the boundaries of streetwear.

MB will Reign.

Dover Street Market

Its like winning the World Cup on a retail scale.

For me its the most prestigous store collaboration, we have done and possibly ever do. To say we have Rei Kawakubo look over our work and appreciate it enough to put it in her concept driven stores is quite amazing.

In Stores soon ;)

2012

Firstly Happy New Year all!

We have quite a busy few months ahead of us. Collaboration with Dover Street Market in Tokyo, Shanghai and London is confirmed which we are extremely delighted about.

Also a Trade show. We will be doing Jacket Required, quite appropriately named as we specialise in outerwear. Being our debut trade show we are quite excited, and slightly nervous at the same time not knowing what to expect.
Hopefully we should be fully prepared for the 12th February with a strong capsule collection.

Few snaps of the last one:
