New Adventure.

A big move has been made to further the ClothSurgeon label, and to gain further experience of the Industry. I have moved to London to work for a relatively new company that is doing well with a simple but quirky concept. I have been brought in to help with all general duties and offer my design ideas and skills. Also I will be focusing on making a few outerwear pieces for Autumn/Winter 2010 for the ClothSurgeon label.

Also applied to Intern at Aitor Throup if I have the time! It would be incredible to work with him as im a big fan of his work and design process and illustrations. Few snaps of the Adventure so far.

Settling in.

Nike I like

I am a devoted swoosh wearer. I rarely wear Adidas, and try stay true to my addiction, even tho I did request a full old school Adidas tracksuit for Christmas.

Few bits have caught my eye and coincidentally re-released. The re-release is the Nike Tiempo Premier football boot, which I only recently blogged about. Slight modifications made to the sole and the leather looks super soft. These were my favourite boots in my playing days and the retro looks so nice I feel inspired to start playing again! Maybe near my new home, at Hackney marshes.
Also two sneakers, the Nike SB Blazer in a beautiful forest green colour with a perforated swoosh, quite festive with the red laces. Also the Torch Max 90 Current as I missed out on the Moire version I think this will be a definate purchase.

Swoosh there it is!

Pinocchio's specs.

Specs made from wood. There is something about products made from wood or wood effect that are quite captivating especially if they are not conventionally made from this natural material.

Little Dragon

I went to finally go see my friend Laura J martin perform live. She was incredible, a one man band, with an exciting creative take on performing and use of instruments in particular a vintage mandolin. All the beats made and produced by her. Her impersonation of Chaka Demus and Pliers Tease Me was prob the highlight.

She was performing just for a Swedish band took the stage. They went by the name Little Dragon and were incredible. One song that has gripped me and is on repeat is Twice. Quite a deep overwhelming feel to the sound, a similar effect the The Knife Heartbeats has on me.

Michael Lau x MINDstyle Kuala Lumpur Exhibition

For Christmas I would like a teleporting machine so I can visit many events, that I miss as there are such far away places. The exhibiton takes place in Malaysia, a country I have visited when I was very young, I dont remember much apart from the beautiful white sand beach where we stayed near and the KFC, yup the Colonels Chicken, due to the fact it was the first place I tasted the Zinger Burger and Hot Wings. They came to the UK few years after.

Anyway as im an admirer of his vinyl toys I would have loved to of seen this. My favourite custom Box C figure, which is also the same for the flyer except he seems to of got him some new Stefan Janoski shoes :)

Big Boys Toys.

Mo shoes Mo purchases

My love for footwear is endless. It will continue forever! Even Forrest Gumps mum thinks that shoes are a very important statement to a persons character.

Jordan are having there 25th Anniversary very soon, and are releasing what seems all the shoes to date in pure white. Here are my favourites from the collection so far. The return of the Jordan VI i think will be very imminent next year, happy and sad all at the same time:

"Momma always says there's an awful lot you could tell about a person by their shoes. Where they're going. Where they've been. I've worn lots of shoes. I bet if i think real hard I could remember my first pair of shoes" Momma Gump

Louboutin sneakers

.....its not so much the sneaker but the shoe that I prefer that the man himself Christian is wearing, especially with tailored check pants. Pharell is rocking the sneaker which looks a pretty similar shape to the Lanvin ones recently released, they are fully studded.

Mr Louboutin anychance of a Freebi?

Head gear

This Winters must head accessorie for me would be a beautiful Leather flight hat. May it be a vintage or a beautiful Felipe Oliveira Baptista one. Its quite a daring piece but will keep your head extremely warm and you can pretend you have an amazing bike just parked up out of sight . Taking influence from WWII fighter pilots look out for them in maybe Portabella market on Fridays and Saturdays or maybe a War memorabilia store. Also the Supreme Trooper hat from this season as a more wearable street version.

A bit special.

The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City will be soon holding an exhibition of a masters work. Tim Burton an American film director producer, writer and artist.

You must be familiar with this guys work, its so distinctivly dark, eerie and quirky. Among my favourite films of his have to Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Pee-Wee's Big Advnture, his work over the years has been epic and genius.

Its a shame I wont be able to visit the exhibition as it is located in New York, but I will be certainly watching his next release Alice In Wonderland which is due to release in March 2010.

Feeling Inspired.

Few of my favourite things.

Top 10 at this moment in time:

Double Goose Leather V Bomber:

This is pefect for the winter months and would probably make you sweat in the antartic!! French label, and made iconic by Run DMC.

Aquascutum Double Breasted Trench:

Customised by me, it has been cropped to waist length and shoulder pads taken out as this was originally a womens long trench. Fits a 38'' chest.

Vintage Varsity Jacket:

Timeless piece for me and picked up for next to nothing on eBay. Made by Delong and probably from the early 60's.

Christian Dior Monsieur Blazer:

Simply cause of the fit and cut of the jacket as if it was tailored for me by the man himself.

Paul Smith Floral Shirt:

Paul Smith floral print is definately my favourite, very distinctive and are beautiful fitting shirts.

Levi Vintage Clothing 1901 501xx Indigo Immortal:

I only really wear Levi denim, and this is definately my favourite pair. They are falling to bits so I had to fuse the inside so they dont tear so easy. I also tapered the leg slightly with the option of making them straight again leaving the fabric on the inside. Limited to 1010 pieces worldwide.

Supreme T-shirts:

Various tee's by Supreme amongst my favourites are the Charlie Ahearn, Terry Richardson x Kermit, and Malcolm McLaren collaborations. Next purchase will be the John Coltrane Love box tee.

Jordan Collection:

Avid sneaker collector and my Jordans are probably my most prized possesions, Jordan VI being my favourite shoe of all time with close runner up Jordan IV. Also the Jordan VII Bordeaux which has never been retro'd.

Trickers x Present Boot:

By far one of my best purchases this year. Brogue boot with a Vibram sole, I wear it everywhere and anywhere I have not taken these off since I have got them, considering bying another pair in Green. Has a little more sophistication then a Red Wings shoe with the brogue detailing.

Visvim Ballistic Backpack:

Taken on all my adventures, white patent and pure quality within fabric and production, which comes as standard with Visvim products.

Cultured Materialistic.
