The re-emergence of the cortez. In its long history the Cortez will have graced the feet of b-boys in NYC to pop and lock, kids to play ball on playgrounds, entire Latino crews in L.A. It will have been a worldwide cultural symbol for urban culture, hip-hop, pop and even had a love affair with “brit-pop” during the 90’s.

Growing up it was probably my most worn shoe. Various colorways and design details, my favourite pair was an all navy suede pair. I recently purchsed a new pair, unfortunately not free this time! From 1972 to now its simplicity has been a timeless model and still going strong.
