On the road.

Whilst driving back to my hometown of Leeds, Yorkshire, born and bred may I add.

I saw a wonderful automobile. The DeLorean DMC-12, also recently found out that it was made in Northern Ireland, but obviously made famous by the movie Back To The Future. I would love this car, but only a part of a fleet, more of a novelty, nostalgia piece.

Preparation

Currently we are just working on new product, and sourcing certain fabrics, and looking at quality UK based manufactures, to push the brand and its British aesthetic.

This is all in preparation for BoxPark, the first Pop-Up mall, being only 1 of 4 new Brands to get a place we will be surrounded by the likes of Nike, Alexander McQueen, Levis to name a few so we are extremely excited about this prospect.

Our shopfit will soon follow, and I will keep a visual diary of this ongoing process. We have to decorate a 8ft x 40ft steel shipping container. Dieter Rams comes to mind. Minimal, less is more, generic modification is going to be the design brief.

Raspberry Mojito's. I have an intense sweet tooth, and a fan of citrus fruits, in particular Lime. So this cocktail goes down so well. Perfect combination right now, although very slightly feminine.

We recently stumbled across another nice bargain.

46m Single width 14oz selvage denim, for a remarkable price of, wait for it......

£3 per metre! We do enjoy a bargain especially when the quality of the fabric is worth a great deal more. I cant reveal my source as you may then get there before us ;)

We are going to do a numbered release of overshirts, which will be in stock at our debut store opening September 1st, Boxpark, Shoreditch, London, but the problem came when we was thinking of how to finish, top stitch this piece, still undecided we thought it would be better to sleep on it.

Relishing a Retro

So amongst all the mayhem and busy times, i thought i'd take a little time out my wonderful opinion.

Well I have not been overly excited about the release of an OG Nike shoe for a while, but as soon as I saw the retro of the Nike Air Flow I instantly got that tingle and pause of breath that all sneaker fans can relate to, or just imagine something you materialistically love. You get the idea.

The colorways are OG also which is always nice to see, and the silhouette of the shoe is so nostalgic and perfect, I really hope it does not disappoint in the flesh.

BOXPARK

So, as I was saying, we have had some important meetings and collaborations coming up. By the title of this blog you may know what this is about. If not then i'll let this video explain.

Its quite a big step for us, exciting and nerve racking at the same time not to mention the amount of work that is involved... we will have an interesting concept running through the store. Which will all be revealed soon, when we actually finalise our ideas!

We will be surrounded by some high profile brands, so its quite flattering to have been given a space, lunchtimes will be pretty fun too.... fully loaded salt beef bagel!

The Evolution of Cool

As im getting older my style is evolving and so is my appreciation for finer details, design and fabrics within clothing.

Stefano Pilati, creative director at YSL is probably going to be a bit of style icon for me come another 5 years. Effortless chic and just looks cool as pretty much all the time. My streetwear influence comes through a slight bit stronger at the moment.

Busy

Its all pretty busy at the moment as we are looking at further collaboration with certain stores, and companies, meeting lined up and also venturing into another area of attire.

Its all pretty hush hush as we don't want to jinx anything, its not like we are trying to build the hype and suspense, its just superstitious minds.

Its all pretty exciting and hard work. We hope it all goes to plan.

Cricket to Indians is much more then a sport. Its a serious part of their lives it gives them a sense of hope and well being, as many of them do not have much in the way of opportunities and belongings.

This is why the Indian team are the Worlds best, by winning the World Cup 2011 they proved passion and raw talent is the winning formula.

I feel very proud to be of Indian descent, and inspired especially by 'The Little Master' Sachin Tendulkar. Diving on the boundary lines at 38 years of age shows how much he wanted to bring the World Cup home for India. So highly respected in Cricket and regarded as one of the best batsman to have ever played the game.

The scenes in Japan are extremely disturbing and does put life into perspective, you don't know what is around the corner. We send out our condolences to Japan, "my favorite unvisited country" and hope they come back stronger after this tragic natural disaster.

Try do your bit to support the cause, prayers and donations whatever it may be.

Its what we do, and its what Fashion is about creating a drawing and getting down ideas onto paper then realizing them into a wonderful item of clothing,

I recently worked with Aaron Lindsay from HiddenLab, a new online store selling high quality streetwear. I drew down a few ideas, using the MB Biker Jacket as a template, we added and subtracted details but keeping it luxurious in fabrics.

We were both very happy with the outcome, and is available to buy now from the HIDDENLAB.

Give me some Energy, I need some Energy!

I was recently invited to the Nike HQ London, by good friend and Mr Nike, Nehjat Ramoth. As soon as I stepped into the premises I had severe ''Office envy'' probably due to the fact that you were surrounded by Nike yet to be released footwear and apparel and just general Nike not for sale stuff. Making you want the item more.

Anyway it so happens I was invited to receive free stuff with a swoosh on, being a Nike fanatic this was pretty much free crack to a crackhead!

Nike Sportswear support people doing their thing in London, may it be Sport, Art, Music and in my case Fashion. So I was delighted, mainly due to the recognition of my hard work. Its always nice to get a pat on the back, or a shoe on your foot.

It was a pleasure meeting Ronojoy Dam of Nike Energy Marketing who is also a fan of what we do.

Amongst the freebi's I was given the Nike Air Force Duckboot, the concept and quality of the shoe is great and will keep my feet warm and dry in this tough English climate!
